KWIK Sticks Hockey is not on tonight due to the weather – Wednesday 22 May.

Wed May 22 09:14am

School opens at 8.25am

Tue May 21 11:48am

We have noticed many children being dropped at school before 8am. Our classrooms don’t open until 8:25am for health and safety reasons. We are not fully staffed until 8:25am. It’s too cold at the moment to have children stand around outside while they wait for their classroom to be opened.

CHB Junior Football Update/Info

Wed May 01 09:10pm

Kia Ora koutou,

The CHB Junior Football Committee have been working hard to make sure everything is ready for the season. If you are keen to join the committee to help us deliver the best football experience that we can for the players please email CHBJuniorFootball@hotmail.com.

Season Start Date:

Local football will begin at 9am on Saturday 11 May at Russell Park in Waipukurau.

CHB Junior Football Club ask that you ensure that fees are paid as soon as possible, please use the players first and last name as a reference. This information would have been emailed to you upon registering your child.

Local Football format:

The format for local football will be similar to the previous season and will consist of skills and drills followed by a game, and we do require assistance with coaching for the teams. No previous coaching or football knowledge is necessary, coach support packs are provided, and you even get your own whistle! Ideally we would have a couple of people available to help for each team, which will allow for cover if someone is unavailable. If you are able to help out with coaching please reply and I will be in touch to talk you through the plan for Saturdays.

Football Gear:

Shinpads are mandatory for all ages of football in Aotearoa, and boots are recommended for ages 7+.

There are a very limited number of boots that are available for players to use for the season, these will be in a box at the park on the first Saturday.

Cancellations:

We are hoping for good conditions every Saturday, but if we do need to cancel football for any reason we will be posting the information on Central FM and to the CHB Junior Football Inc Facebook page by 7:30am on the day.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you during the season.

Thanks,

Te Kahu o te Ora: A Consistent Ethic of Life

Thu Feb 29 02:27pm

The landmark new Catholic bishops’ teaching document Te Kahu o te Ora: A Consistent Ethic of Life has been reprinted, with paper copies available to schools, parishes, Church organisations and individuals for just $3 each.

Te Kahu o Te Ora contains a succinct overview of eight key moral areas including creation; the beginning and end-of-life; discrimination and abuse;  poverty;  war and peace; justice and correction;  and information technology and artificial intelligence. Published by the NZ Catholic Bishops Conference last September, it is a revised and much-expanded version of a 1997 bishops’ statement and reminds us that all life is a gift from God.

NZCBC President and Bishop of Auckland Bishop Stephen Lowe says the bishops want every Catholic to read Te Kahu o te Ora: “We are confident that reflecting on the document will foster hope-filled conversations that will lead to attitudinal change and positive action towards a better world in which all life is consistently treasured and protected.”

Read more about Te Kahu o te Ora and look at electronic and PDF copies of it here: https://www.catholic.org.nz/news/media-releases/tekahu/

Order printed copies of Te Kahu o te Ora by sending an email with your name, the name of your parish, school or organization as appropriate, your postal address, and the number of copies you require, to communications@nzcbc.org.nz with “Te Kahu o te Ora” in the subject line. We will invoice you with your delivered order.
